Kerim Can Ertug is the Founding Partner of Power Ten Consulting, a boutique consulting firm with offices in İstanbul, Toronto and Washington DC. Mr. Ertuğ who has 20 years of management consulting and research experience focuses on strategy, efficiency improvement, strengthening corporate governance, and turnaround management. His prior clients include Fortune 500 Companies, private equity firms, mid & large size financial institutions, consulting firms, and specialized healthcare & educational service providers.
Prior to Power Ten Consulting, Mr. Ertug has worked at Cleary & Co., a specialized consulting firm focusing in efficiency improvement and cost reduction. Mr. Ertug started his consulting career at Navigant Consulting (NYSE: NCI) where he was a manager. Prior to Navigant Consulting he was a senior researcher at the Investment Company Institute in Washigton DC.
He has a masters degree in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and attended Harvard University as a visiting graduate student and completed courses in economics, his undergraduate degree is in finance & international business from Washington University in St. Louis. Mr. Ertug is fluent in Turkish & English and an advanced level French speaker.
Mr. Ertug is an avid photographer and a rower. His photography has won international recognition in various competitions in the US and Europe. He has competed in rowing at an elite level in the US, UK, Turkey, and Canada and has won at various regattas.
Christopher Liu is a Partner at Power Ten Consulting in Toronto office and an Assistant Professor in the Strategic Management area at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. In addition to advising Fortune 500 companies he teaches strategic management in the Rotman Commerce program.
Mr. Liu’s research examines the impact of social networks on knowledge production and performance, with particular attention to the environmental factors that shape the formation and maintenance of networks. His research has emphasized two complementary streams: how 1) spatial networks and 2) dynamic networks affect communication flows, knowledge production, and performance. Recent projects have examined how microgeography shapes communication flows at a biotechnology firm, as well as the US Senate.
He has received two doctoral degrees: one in management from Harvard Business School, and one in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Liu is a frequent participant and speaker at world’s leading academic conferences in management, innovation and entrepreneurship.
He has published over twenty articles in academic journals. He is on the board of Scientific Advisory Board at IRIS/University of Michigan and he is on the editor board of Academy Of Management Review.
Michael Cleary is a Partner at Power Ten Consulting in Washington DC office and founder of Cleary & Co. with 30 years consulting experience covering a wide range of industries. Over the past 15 years, he has concentrated exclusively on Financial Services, helping clients perform Merger Integration, and devise and implement sustainable, large scale Cost Reduction and Operations Improvement initiatives. His work spans firms with revenues ranging from $200 million to $50 billion in revenues.
Previously, as a strategy consultant, Michael worked on Growth Strategies, Pricing and Competitive Turnaround Strategies, both domestically and internationally (particularly in Europe, the Former Soviet Union and Japan/Asia).
As a thought leader in the field of Performance Improvement, Mr. Cleary has developed many proprietary methods and benchmarks, and has led the company to adopt a more hands-on, action-oriented approach to achieving lasting cost reductions, whether as a standalone entity or in the context of a merger.
Prior to founding Cleary & Co. in 2000, Mr. Cleary was a partner with Oliver Wyman, where he specialized in performance improvement in their Financial Services practice. Mr. Cleary has also previously worked at Bain & Company, where he was also a partner.
Mr. Cleary holds a First Class Honours degree in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the University of Chicago, where he was an FMC Scholar (top 1%).
